Carnegie, Pennsylvania is a small borough located in Allegheny County, just southwest of downtown Pittsburgh. Named after the philanthropist and industrialist Andrew Carnegie, the town was originally founded as a rural farming community in the early 19th century but quickly transformed into a hub of industry following the creation of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad in 1871.
